Terms of Service
These Terms apply when you use the Shoonkria app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
1. The Service
Shoonkria is a food and city guide by Ali Rehman. It shows places eaten at in person, honest scores and reviews, bank and card discounts, events, plans you can share with friends, and links to book a table. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Some features, such as writing a review, saving plans or messaging us, need an account. You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account in the app (menu, then Delete account) or by emailing us.
3. Location features
If you allow it, the app uses your location to show places, deals and events near you. Location is optional and you can switch it off at any time in your device settings. The Service still works without it, with fewer nearby results.
4. Recommendations, reviews and third-party information
Scores, reviews and ratings, including ours and those from other diners, are personal views given for general information. They are not a guarantee of quality, hygiene or safety. Opening hours, menus, prices, locations and bank or card discounts come from the venues, banks and other third parties and can change without notice. Always confirm with the venue or bank before you go or pay. Links to other websites and apps are provided for convenience; we do not control them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- post anything false, misleading, abusive, defamatory, hateful or infringing;
- manipulate reviews or ratings, for example by posting fake reviews, paying for reviews, or posting about a place you own or work for without saying so;
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- copy, scrape or resell the Service's data, or use bots to access it;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service; or
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these Terms, as described in section 5A.
5A. Reporting, blocking and removal of content
Shoonkria has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. This applies to reviews, ratings, names, profile pictures and anything else you post or share in the app.
What is not allowed. You must not post content that is hateful or discriminatory, harassing, bullying or threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, spam or advertising, misleading or fake, or that breaks the law or another person's rights.
Filtering. Reviews are automatically checked for offensive language when you submit them. Text that fails the check is not published.
Reporting content. You can report any review from the app: tap the ⋯ button on the review and choose Report, then pick a reason. The review is hidden for you straight away. You can also email us at ali@shoonkria.com.
Blocking users. To stop seeing a person's reviews, tap the ⋯ button on one of their reviews and choose Block. You can undo this at any time from the menu under Blocked diners.
What we do. We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these Terms and we suspend or remove the accounts of people who post it or who abuse other users, without notice where we think it necessary. If you think we got a decision wrong, email ali@shoonkria.com and we will look again.
Good-faith reports. Please report only content you genuinely believe breaks these Terms. Repeated false or abusive reports may lead to your account being suspended.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the reviews, messages and other content you submit. By submitting it you give Shoonkria a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt and share it in connection with the Service. You confirm that your content is your own, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. You can delete your own reviews at any time.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its name, logo, design, text, photos, videos and software, belongs to Shoonkria, Ali Rehman or our licensors and is protected by law. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute or build on it without our written permission.
8. Paid features and sponsorships
Some placements in the Service, such as banners, featured spots, events and partner content, are paid for or sponsored. Sponsorship does not change an honest score or review. Any payments between you and a venue, bank or event organiser are between you and them.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not make any promise about its accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for what venues, banks, event organisers or other users do or say.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Shoonkria and Ali Rehman are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to cover us against claims, losses and costs arising from content you post or from your breach of these Terms, to the extent the law allows.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or delete your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any dispute will be decided by the courts of Lahore, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will tell you in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
