Are restaurants paying to be in Shoonkria?
No. A place is in the app because Ali ate there and filmed it. Brand partners, sponsored banners and featured placements are sold separately, always labelled, and never change a score or a verdict.
Is every review really by Ali?
Yes. Every reel is one of Ali's own, and nothing publishes until he has confirmed the place, the score and the verdict himself. The AI only helps transcribe and file.
Does the app track my location?
Only while you're looking at the map. Near me asks your phone for your position to show what's around you and how far it is; nothing is stored or shared, and if you say no it simply shows the city centre instead.
Is it only for Lahore?
No. Shoonkria launches in six cities: Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan, with card discounts and events for each. Ali's filmed reviews are deepest in Lahore, where he lives, and grow city by city as he travels. The app shows you your own city automatically.
What does the score mean?
It's Ali's rating out of 10 for that visit, with a one-line verdict. You'll see the Google rating next to it so you can judge for yourself where they differ. Must visits are flagged; so are the ones he'd skip.
Do I need an account?
No. Browse, search, plan a trail and check discounts without signing in. Your trail progress is saved on your device. Sign-in is only for rating and reviewing places yourself.
What do early testers actually do?
Use the app the way you'd normally eat out for a couple of weeks, then tell Ali what worked, what didn't and what's missing — over WhatsApp, in your own words. No forms, no NDAs. Testers get the build before anyone else and their names go in the credits.
Where do the card discounts come from?
From the banks' own dining-offer portals and public deal listings across Pakistan, refreshed on a schedule and matched to the places in the app. Always check the offer terms at the restaurant.
When does the app launch?
iOS and Android builds are being finished now. Before the public launch, a small group of early testers will get the app first and help shape it — pre-register above to be considered. This page will carry the store links the day they're live.
